The furrowed bowls are named for their wrinkles, folds, bumps, and sometimes holes.

These nesting bronze dishes have been around about as long as Pearce Bronze in various iterations… I originally called them “cairns” in reference to the stacking rocks used to mark a hiking trail. They’re known as “pinch pots” due to the age-old process of pinching a lump of clay into a shape… which I did for the sold-out Westman Atelier collaboration in 2025 which included the lovely WA heart insignia.

The previous series of birth control pills are sold out and now I have these guys. They are available over-the-counter because they’re progestin-only, no estrogen, also knows as “mini-pills.” They’re also more difficult to use you need to be very careful to take them at the same time every day. But nice that the FDA approved an over-the-counter birth control pill available in every state! I got these at the first Planned Parenthood I ever went to in Salt Lake City, Utah! I later worked at one in upstate NY.

The small, large, and large oval furrowed bowls were all made from air dry clay. The ruts and grooves developed while drying. When cast in bronze, they are untreatable with Botox. But the furrows don’t want to be treated. Those ruts are there for a reason and they wear them with pride.
These gorditos used to weigh in at an already hefty 7lbs… but the news ones are running 10-11lb and I’m not exactly sure why… maybe shifting a little in the sand casting mold and creating more space. It can be used as a shield against certain types of replicant eye-based laser weapons or scanners, and has a sizable scrap bronze value. All Pearce Bronze is priced based on a multiple of the actual bronze costs and polishing labor time.
