They are available over-the-counter because they’re progestin-only, no estrogen, also knows as “mini-pills.” They’re also more difficult to use you need to be very careful to take them at the same time every day. But nice that the FDA approved an over-the-counter birth control pill available in every state! I got these at the first Planned Parenthood I ever went to in Salt Lake City, Utah! I later worked at one in upstate NY.
